Tonight I heard one of our district senior dudes tell a club that a
member could apply for an OCL this term, even though the member had
previously earned a CL (before it became OCL). Can anyone confirm
this?
I know that a CC can be earned and credited once per member per club
per year. But is that also true of Leadership awards? - Toastmaster of the Year award
I would appreciate hearing from other clubs how they go about selecting the
club TM of the Year.
The President's manual gives an exhaustive list of factors to consider in
selecting a worthy candidate, but it is silent on who actually makes the
decision. A single person? A committee? The membership by secret ballot? - Who All Is Going To International Convention??

Last night on The Discovery Channel, I saw an new commercial for

In the ad, one of the statements the narrarator made was "... you

Has anyone else noticed a big difference in contest participation and
attendance between Districts?
I belong to clubs in two Districts. District 52 is relatively small
geographically. Generally Area contests are combined because of poor
participation. In the Area contest where I competed, there were three - He is risen

Nominated for Vista Division governor, uncontested.
All other Division governor positions in District 50 are uncontested.
Several Area Governors are running for Division governors also. - Contest season
Contest season can get intense, and confusing, when you belong to clubs in
more than one District. One of my Districts is doing Tall Tales and the
other is doing Evaluation. I entered both contests in each of my clubs. At
the first one, I won Evaluation but didn't place with my International
speech. At the second one, I won Tall Tales, and placed second out of two - Group technical presentation
OK, I will post my question about the group technical presentation to both

My next speech out of the technical speeches manual is the 5th, or
group technical speech. I am still only planning it out in my mind
and have not started getting together a group or anything like that - Google group?

I gave my first target speech for a club contest tonight. Interesting
experiece. It's a change of a speech I did for my last CC manual and
that was a mash of 3 or 4 ideas that I had.
One evaluator told me I need to use more of the space and I had great
vocal variety.
The other said I could have improved my vocal variety but used the space
